This scar is from the collar. Although nobody’s noticed. Little brother! I was born in the world of humans, and my mother died in the world of humans. In a big cage where the kings live. We could have broken those stupid locks with one good kick with the front paws. Oh little brother, like a small rabbit with a splinter you can’t get out of your foot. A panther is a panther and not something to mock. So I don’t kill. Let’s live, and go hunting together. The nuts and honey you get from climbing a tree yourself, it’s as good as raw meat. Yes! We’re always hungry, at any time. (from The Jungle Book) When you were a little naked kid, I, too, was born amongst HUMANS. I’d never seen a jungle before. HUMANS on the other side of the cage fed me raw meat off a metal plate. One night I realized this, which is why I left. It was easy because I knew the dirty ways of HUMANS. Right? You’re a brown bear. A bear that comes and goes as it likes, eating only nuts and roots and honey. (from The Jungle Book)
